Robins - signifigance?
Hi All
A few years ago after my Grandfather passed away, we noticed a Robin in the back garden. Earlier this year, my grandmother passed away and we have since then seen 2 Robins in the garden, (before this there was only ever 1 robin).
My grandmother passed away in hospital during the time my grandfathers anniversary mass was being held - even the priest at her funneral remarked that my grandfather had come to help her pass over.
My questions is, does anything think the 2 robins may be a sign that both my grandparents are together again and they are letting us know they are fine - or am I just reading more into a situation because I want to?
There are numerous omens and superstitions surrounding our feathered friends and the most widespread on is that they are often believed to be the returned souls of the deceased.
As for the Robin, that breed has many beliefs attributed to it as well as the one stated above, but i will save the details of them for another post.
I think wether or not your reading to much into this does not really matter, if it helps you grieve then surely thats a good thing.
Hope this helps.

There are two robins that live in the bushes outside my windows. When I'm doing the washing up, the robins will come in my mind, i look up out the window & there the robin is sitting on a branch staring at me, this happens all the time, I acknowledge them & throw out some bread for them.
interesting. I've seen robins only twice in Ireland and I was wondering too what they meant and if they have significance.
This is some pictures of Robins feeding from the hand, wonder what this means (apart from their hungry that is).

We very often see a robin as we enter the school, the other day my 4 yr old daughter fell over badly skinning her knee, as we left the school a robin sat on the bars & stayed there until we were no more than a few steps away. I told her it was grandad Jack checking she was alright, but my son said it was their nan's dog come back to check on her & she stopped crying.
We often see robins & blackbirds in our garden they come & look in the window I hope it is my loved ones coming to say hello.
Hi Everyone
When my Dad was ill in hospital nearly two years ago, there would often be a robin sitting in his windowsill looking in at him. He was there nearly eveytime we vistied him and then after he died there would often be a robin sitting on or flying around his headstone. Quite often it would be there at his headstone when we arrived and other times it would come as soon as we got there, it came quite close to us as well. I don't really know what it means but it was really comforting xx
I'd like to think it's our loved ones popping in to say hello. For the past 3 months a robin has been coming into my house at least 2 times a day (It walks in and hops into the dogs bowl to steal any crumbs : D and on occasion flies in and sits on the toaster for a few minutes)
If it brings comfort to you and it was your initial feelings then dont worry about reading too much into it.
